Trinity Church Staff

Ryan Mustered

Lead Pastor

About me: I trusted Jesus Christ as my savior at the age of 10. I was raised on a farm but moved to the city after my parents divorced. After college (U of I), I worked at an engineering firm for nearly a decade, serving as operations manager and senior scientist. I later earned a master's in ministry and a doctorate in communications. I've been serving in pastoral ministry for 15 years and I'm delighted to be at Trinity Church. Our vision is to see God transforming lives and communities through faith in Jesus Christ!

Family: I dearly love my wife, Malinda, and our four children, Zach (married & heading towards mission field), Hannah, Lydia (high school), and Caleb (high school).

Hobbies: I enjoy the outdoors, time with friends and family, and sports and games of all sorts. Most people wouldn't guess that I ride a motorcycle, am bilingual, wrench on cars, and enjoy boxing.

Favorite verse: My life verse comes from the words of Jesus in Matthew 28: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Tim Tammen

Ashkum Campus Pastor

About me:  Youth work is a passion of mine and has been for approximately 15 years now. Research shows that one positive relationship with an adult can change a child’s trajectory in life, and faith tells us that a relationship with Christ is essential to happiness and success. I have always felt called to grow relationships with kids and teens while introducing them to Christ as they encounter all the ups and downs of growing up. God has guided me every step of the way, even when I didn’t know if it was really my path. This guidance led me to full time ministry in 2020 and God’s clear directions have led my family and I to the conclusion that ministry is a calling on our lives, not just a vocation for me.

Family: I met my amazing wife, Patty, in 2009 and married her in 2010 since then our family has grown. Patty works for IKAN - the regional office of education as an instructional coach. Our daughter Cadence is 13 years old, loves volleyball and singing Anne Wilson songs. Our son William is 10, and loves all things fishing.

Hobbies: My hobbies include hunting and fishing. Even if I don’t catch anything I love being outside and love sitting by a body of water and enjoying God’s creation all around me. I enjoy farming with my father and grow aronia berries as a hobby on the Tammen Family Farm in Danforth, as well.

Favorite Verse: 1 Timothy 4:12

Austin Pendry

Pastoral Counselor

About me:  I grew up in the church since I was a kid and accepted Jesus as my savior as a teenager. Through the next two decades, I have been making my faith my own and putting my trust in Jesus no matter what is going on. I grew up in Batavia Illinois and lived there until I finished school in 2016. I then moved down to Southern Illinois and lived there until I moved up this way in the last months of 2018. I have obtained a Master’s in Pastoral Care and Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I have worked as a substance and/or mental health therapist over the last eight years in places like prisons and treatment centers. I have also worked in various settings in the church from preaching, running youth and small groups, hosting worship services, and other things. I am honored to be serving the church and community through pastoral care and counseling and want to love Christ to the best of my ability.

Family:  I have been married to my wife Renee Pendry since 2017 and have two wonderful children Kathry and Anderson Pendry. You can usually find Kathryn sitting with either Renee, myself, or others in the church and Anderson enjoying the lights or music at church. Lately, life has given my family and I several challenges, with me no longer being able to drive due to my vision and Anderson being diagnosed with autism. These have been tough for our family, but God has been faithful in providing others to help and ways for us to adapt to these things.

Hobbies: I like to sleep but don’t really get to anymore. 😊 I also enjoy watching sports, movies, or various TV shows. I like listening to music and comedy on my phone or computer. I also like watching/following football and hockey. I am a huge Detroit Lions and Redwings fan and have been since I was a little kid.  I also like playing video games on my Nintendo switch or older consoles like the Nintendo 64 or NES.

Favorite Scripture: Some of my favorites over the years have been Phillipians 4:13 Psalms 51, and Psalms 22. Lately, I have really come to appreciate the words of 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 which says “So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” With the recent increased deterioration of my vision, and how it has impacted my family and I’s lives, this has been an ongoing encouragement to lean on God and trust His will for my life regardless of what is or is not happening.
